What Is Gamed Little Snitch

I have recently had some* trouble with Apple applications and Little Snitch.
The latest issue surfaced when I tried to use iTunes 12.3.2 with a El Capitan 10.11.3** after having updated Little Snitch to 3.6.3:

Automotive tuning software for laptop. Oct 28, 2013 Since upgrading to Mavericks, Little Snitch's network monitor is showing a ridiculous amount of attempts by a process called gamed, which is part of the GameKit.framework, at making network connections. I use Little Snitch to lock down my Mac and I constantly get notifications that GameD is trying to connect. I don't do any gaming on my Mac (it's strictly for work) so I'd like to completely shut down/disable GameD as it does me no good. This process may take a long time to complete (you can click the Stop button to skip this process). At the Install Windows step, click Choose, then select the Windows ISO image.Specify a partition size by dragging the divider between the macOS and Windows partitions. • With Little Snitch's Network Filter switched to 'On', iTunes will load and show files/assets known to the iTunes Database. Media files removed manually to conserve space correctly display the '!' (exclamation mark in a circle). So everything appeared to be alright.
  • When trying to 'Authorize This Computer…', nothing seems to happen … i.e. while Little Snitch is running, I don't receive any response or notification to executing this menu command.
  • When I look for an advertised new episode of a purchased TV Show or try to access the iTunes store in any other way (clicking on the resp. 'Tab' or invoking 'Check for Available Downloads…' from the 'Store' menu), iTunes will stop responding and the Beachball of Death appears.
  • The same behaviour occurs also when trying to 'Quit' iTunes.
  • Disabling Little Snitch by setting the Network Filter to 'Off' immediately solves the issue: I receive the 'This computer is already authorized' message and iTunes Store content appears just fine, as is the TV Show episode which can be downloaded as expected.
  • I have triple-checked the Rules in Little Snitch and softened/deleted some Apple-related rules and, currently, the only connections I have denied are for 'SpotlightNetHelper' (wu-calculator.apple.com) and 'gamed' (17.155.127.222+223, ports 16384 to 16386). Note: In the past I completely blocked all traffic for gamed, but for the time being I decided to only block the ones
  • Allowing all gamed connections (see above) and then re-enabling Little Snitch (Network Filter ='On') does not change the behaviour: iTunes still stalls.

Question 1: Any suggestions as to how to resolve this?
Question 2: Does anyone have similar issues? What Is Gamed Little Snitch
Question 3: Apple has in the past force-disabled Little Snitch (moved it to a folder named something along the line of 'Unsupported Software'). Is this a known symptom of Apple trying to thwart use of Little Snitch and similar services and software? Is it conceivable that they have now started to disable (=intentionally break) certain (popular) processes (i.e. iTunes Store access) based on detecting Little Snitch as being active in the system?!
*=only about a month ago (prior to the repair** and while still under Yosemite 10.10.5 and with Little Snitch version below 3.6.3), similar issues, not restricted to iTunes, had me restart the same MacBook Pro to Recovery Mode and then perform two (2) cycles of Repair Permissions with the Disk Utility available from there. At the time, this then solved the problems. I have not performed this procedure yet again.

**=My MacBook Pro (early 2013) had just been serviced by Apple and on that occasion I had performed a clean installation of 10.11.x (with all available updates to 10.11.3). Using the Apple Migration Assistant, I then copied all data from a bootable clone of the previous working installation of OS X (Yosemite 10.10.5).
